I heard an estimate recently that the average yearly consumption of cheese for each westerner is currently thirty pounds per year, and that in 1950 it was only six pounds.

That's would mean comsumption is currently only 1.3 ounces a day, not too much. I guess cheese wasn't very popular in 1950. 1.3 ounces of cheese a day is good for you.

good for the burger king. i dont like the idea of the government and big business getting together to decide what kind of food i can buy... even if it is ostensibly for my own good. its survival of the fittest. people who are stupid enough to eat fast food everyday will be fat and never have sex or just die. leave the options out there. you want healthy, go eat some tree bark, bitch. leave my whopper alone.

i'm with Burger King on this one. It IS up to customers to make choices about their diet. And i have no problem with government intervening with big business, but i think it should be to tell a company they cant outsource jobs to countries that allow slave labor conditions just so the CEO can make an extra 10,000 a year on top of his 15 million. Thats all

Has anybody tried that Meatnormous Sammich? It looks awesome. 740 calories? That's just one hour on the treadmill, a small price to pay for so much flavor. There's alway bulemia too. Eggs regurgitate rather easily. I've never coughed up bacon though. That could be nasty.

Fast food is so disgusting. I'm not with the BK on this one. No one needs a 740 calorie sandwich.

Whenever a restaurant figures out a way to add three different types of pig-meat to one sandwich, you know they're doing something right.

Ugh. I think I can actually hear some of you getting fatter. As someone who works their tail off to pay or a ridiculously huge Medicare health and drug bill for seniors here in America(something like a a gazillion dollars a year now, even though I don't have good health coverage as a young worker), I don't blame health-conscious Brits one bit if they have to subsidize the health care of a nation who eat anything that breathes or craps.
