Tim Blair notes an interesting turn of phrase in The Age:
On July 7 three trains and a bus in London killed 56 people - including the four suspected suicide bombers - and wounded 700.(via Norm.) Posted by Dr. Frank at July 28, 2005 11:26 PM | TrackBack
Trains don't kill people. People kill people.

Posted by: Megan at July 29, 2005 04:25 PMTrains are blameless, holy creatures.

Posted by: BV at July 30, 2005 02:46 PMTo my shame I had to read that three times to get what the problem was: absolutely no attempt to get to the root cause of why trains and buses would want to behave in such a way.

Posted by: Manda Magpie at August 1, 2005 03:03 PMNah, I'm straight out of a Douglas Adams book and I found it to be "mostly harmless". They did get all worked up when I stole a little train once, it was called the something-or-other Oriental. They kept clammmering on something about needing to be on time while they were staring at oddly enough non-digital watches.
Posted by: Zaphod at August 1, 2005 11:54 PMWhat if they meant the band Train killed 56 people? That would make more sense. Because, much like a suicide bomber, they blow.
